How to get involved

To help make the Watchet Carnival and Music Festival continue to evolve, we need the support of volunteer stewards. Experience West Somerset's liveliest daylight carnival and outdoor Music Festival weekend by giving your time and energy in helping to make this popular carnival/festival happen.

There are many benefits including free entry to carnival run events, meeting new friends, learning new skills, and being part of the Watchet Carnival Club’s growing team of volunteers. We encourage local groups and organisasions to get involved and we make a donations to our chosen charity for the time given in help at our events.

Carnival stewards are required for route marshals, Street collectors on carnival day, parade marshalls and car parking stewards.

Festival stewards Over the Festival Weekend stewards are required for numerous tasks including:festival information staff, infrastructure (help build and dismantle the layout of the festival),car park marshals, day/evening site stewarding, bar staff, Rubbish collecting and staffing  the entrance desk. Training will be given for all stewards and you would work in teams lead by a carnival club/festival official. There will also be a need for stewards to work at various on site locations including the music stages, workshop venues and liaising with the onsite security. We are asking for volunteers to give a small amount of time per day (minimum 4 hours) and in return you will be involved in the running of West Somerset's largest live music event.

As this festival continues to grow your support is invaluable -  if you are interested in helping our non-profit making organisation please download the attached volunteer steward application form and post to Watchet Carnival Club, Carnival/Festival Stewarding, P.O.
